The Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts shares the following arrangements for the services honoring Braintree Fire Lt. Paul J. Smyth, who died in the line of duty on May 21, 2026, due to occupational cancer.
Lt. Smyth was a dedicated member of the Braintree Fire Department and the brother of Quincy Fire Interim Chief Gary Smyth.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, May 26, from 3 to 7 p.m. at:

A Fire Department Walk Through will take place at 2:30 p.m. prior to visiting hours.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 27, at 10 a.m. at:
Saint John the Baptist Church
