National Life Safety Initiative #1 is all about safety culture—but you can’t manage what you can’t measure, so you need DATA. This session will introduce you to the 4th generation of the FOCUS survey, a tool used to measure your fire department’s commitment to safety.
FOCUS is a reliable and valid instrument funded by FEMA and developed by the Center for Firefighter Injury Research and Safety Trends (FIRST) at Drexel University. The survey has reached over 700 fire departments and 90,000 firefighters from every state. As your department’s FOCUS score increases, you will see your injuries and burnout go down, and your work engagement and job satisfaction go up. Come learn how to enroll and use FOCUS 3.0 to get what you need.
