FCAM Executive Board is coordinating a response to the last-minute change in grant language that the Governor instituted in the FIRE Equipment Grant Program. This language has caused some communities to not be eligible for their fire equipment grant, as they are not able to certify that their community is in compliance with the so called MBTA Communities Act.
The President will be proving further information and guidance on a coordinated message regarding this issue.

By submitting an application for this program, the applicant agrees to comply with the following:
1. The receipt of grant funds is contingent upon the grantee being able to certify that it will comply with the Massachusetts General Laws, including G.L. c. 40A, § 3A, the MBTA Communities Act. Compliance with the MBTA Communities Act is determined by the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities
