Driver Safety Webinar Series from Department of Labor Standards and National Safety Council – February 12, March 12, and April 9, 2025

Each year, more than 3,000 people die in crashes involving distracted drivers. These incidents are preventable but continue to occur. The Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards (DLS) has partnered with the National Safety Council (NSC) to host a free three-part webinar series made up of 5 modules designed to educate public sector employees on safer driving practices.  Pre-registration is required for this webinar series and is limited to 250 participants. Once registered you must complete all five modules.

Agenda: DLS is offering a three-part webinar series on driver safety.  For each session, participants will first receive live, interactive training moderated by NSC trainer Michael Ezzell. This will be followed by individually accessed, self-paced online training on the topics below. All five training modules must be completed by May 30, 2025.

  • February 12, 2025 – Defensive Driving Overview
  • March 12, 2025 – Three Defensive Driving In-Depth Modules
    • Avoiding Fatigued Driving
    • Avoiding Fixed Objects
    • Backing and Parking Lot Strategies

Note: On this date, participants will take one web-based training module of their choice and then must complete the other two on their own schedule.

  • April 9, 2025 – Distracted Driving
