President Purcell and the Executive Board have appointed Chief Christopher (CJ) Bartone as State Director of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs (NEAFC). Chief Bartone has served the West Springfield Fire Department for 25 years and became Fire Chief in 2023. He is also a member of district 4’s Hazardous Materials Response Team.
In his letter, Chief Bartone affirmed his commitment to advancing the fire service and supporting the NEAFC’s mission by fostering innovation and strengthening collaboration with stakeholders. He highlighted his potential for long-term leadership in the role.
