Massachusetts Communications and Interoperability Summit

The Public Safety Broadband Technology Association (PSBTA) and the Mass. SWIC’s Office in the Executive Office of Public Safety & Security invite you to attend the Massachusetts Communications and Interoperability Summit Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Mass. Forensic Science and Technology Learning Center, 124 Action St., Maynard MA from 8:30am-4:00pm. This is a free in person event. Seating is limited.   • FIFA / World Cup 2026 Communications and Network planning efforts.
  • Mission Critical PTT and Interoperability.
  • FirstNet Policy and Federal Reauthorization.
  • Cybersecurity resilience, preparation, planning, funding, and sustainment. Do you have a plan?
  • Data sharing / interoperability. Unique Mass. challenges and the future.
  • Comms. planning at the regional level. RECC integration, regional channels, best practices.
  • Tactical channel programming and familiarity / training. Importance of naming conventions. Top ten “best practices”.
  • Multi-jurisdictional communications and interop training as part of all exercises. Why it’s important, including your RECC’s and 911 centers.
  • PACE / COOP planning for all communications (voice and data).
  • Statewide CoMIRS radio upgrade modernization project. What’s coming, what’s needed, what’s next.
  • Future planning for your communications systems. Are you funded and sustained for the future. 5 years, 10 years.
