Committees Accepting Applications
The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) is pleased to announce that the Committee Application Process is now open. We invite eligible Regular Full IAFC members to apply for service on one or more of our standing committees for the upcoming term.
Serving on an IAFC committee is an impactful way to contribute your expertise, collaborate with peers across the fire and emergency service, and help shape policies, programs, and initiatives that advance the profession and the IAFC’s mission.
IAFC members may apply to the following committees:
- Communications Committee
- Emergency Management Committee
- Hazardous Materials Committee
- Terrorism and Homeland Security Committee
- Training & Education Development Committee
- USAR Committee
- Wildland Fire Policy Committee
Please note: Members applying to multiple committees must submit a separate application for each committee.
Eligibility and Application Details
- Eligibility: Only current Regular Full IAFC members are eligible to apply. Basic Members are ineligible to apply.
- Application Platform: Applications are submitted through the IAFC online Committee Application Form.
- Required Information: Applicants will be asked to complete several short-answer questions and to upload a current résumé highlighting relevant experience.
How the Process Works
Once submitted, applications are reviewed by designated staff liaisons and committee leadership. Applicants will be notified following the review and approval process. Approved applicants will receive confirmation and details of their committee assignment.
Approved applicants should plan to attend an in-person committee meeting at Fire-Rescue International (FRI) Conference on August 12-14 in Kansas City, MS.
