Hello, Massachusetts, Public Safety Communications Stakeholder Agencies:
I am forwarding the information below on behalf of the FirstNet Authority to solicit YOUR feedback regarding future coverage investments in Massachusetts.
The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) is moving forward on its plans to expand FirstNet, the nationwide public safety broadband network, and enhance coverage where first responders need it.
This your opportunity to provide real world feedback regarding coverage here in Massachusetts based on your experience with the network as a public safety leader, and where you think investments in more coverage would be beneficial based on real world experience, either day to day, or during special events or incidents.
The Authority will take the information collected in these feedback surveys and aggregate it into other tools it uses with their partner, AT&T, to plan how best to further invest in the network here in our state. As your SWIC,I will continue to work closely with them to represent the public safety communications community for Massachusetts and advocate for the needs in this space of all agencies, statewide.
The link and QR code to the survey are shown below (both go to the same survey, just different methods). If you have areas of interest you wish to submit, this is the best way possible. Each survey asks for one specific area, but if you have others, you can submit as many surveys as necessary.
This information gathering method is just the start of more work to be done in this space here in Massachusetts, and I wanted to extend this feedback opportunity widely.
Feel free to share with other public safety stakeholder agencies as you see fit. This is a great opportunity for public safety user voices to be heard, and they are listening.
