As you know, the NERIS onboarding process is underway in Massachusetts. More than 17,000 incidents have already been logged in the system, and I’d like to thank those of you who have already begun reporting through this impressive new data collection tool.
To assist all our fire service partners in navigating the historic change from NFIRS to NERIS, the Department of Fire Services will be offering 16 orientation and training sessions at locations across Massachusetts. Day and night options are available. I encourage you, your deputies, and any other staff who handle incident reporting to take advantage of these informative deliveries. They will be led by Derryl Dion, who has been in close contact with the NERIS team throughout this process while also doing yeoman’s work in supporting local departments.
