The Lynn Fire Department regrets to announce the Active Duty Death of FF David E. DePrizito.
Ff DePrizito was 53 years old, served in the United States Navy and Army National Guard, and was a 29-year member of the Lynn Fire Department
David E. “Depo” DePrizito, age 53, Firefighter for the City of Lynn Fire Department, died on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Dominga (Cuello) DePrizito, with whom he shared over 15 years of marriage and over 20 years together. Born in Lynn, in 1971, he was the son of the late James DePrizito (LFD) and the late Irma C. (Mendives) DePrizito. He was raised in Lynn, graduated from St. Pius V Grammar School and St. Mary’s High School in 1989, where he played Varsity Baseball and Football and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Salem State College and also played baseball. He enlisted in the United States Navy and following his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, he joined the Army National Guard. In 1996, Dave began his career with the City of Lynn Fire Department, following in the footsteps of his father and older brother Jimmie. He was currently the “Senior Man” of the Department, serving on Engine 7 in Pine Hill at the time of his death, and was a proud member of the Lynn Firefighter’s Union, Local 739. An avid sports fan, he loved following all the Boston Sports teams, especially the Patriots, and helped coach Little League baseball and soccer, when his children were younger. He enjoyed golfing and watching TV; his favorite shows being CSI, The 3 Stooges and the movie Grown Ups, playing it over and over. His greatest joy was spoiling his children and family and taking them on vacations everywhere, including Disney and many other places. He was a loyal friend and was someone the younger members of the Fire Department looked up to.
In addition to his wife Dominga, Dave is survived by his loving children, Armani DePrizito and his girlfriend Jayla Manor, Crystal DePrizito, and Chris Morales; his nephew, Anthony DePrizito; his aunts and uncles, Mary DePrizito, Sandy and John DePrizito, Frankie DePrizito, Euraclio Mendives Rivera, and Zaida Mendives; his many cousins including, Jorge and Jenni and their daughter Mafe, Alexis and Nati and their daughter Carla, Mary Carmen, Irma, Cuchi, Marlon, Linda, Christina and Tina; his sister-in-law Jackie Hall and her husband Jim and his many friends and co-workers. He was the brother of the late James A. DePrizito (LFD).
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10a.m. Burial will be in the Firefighter’s Relief Association Lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting Hours will be on Friday from 3-7p.m. at the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn, with a Pass-By beginning at 2:40p.m.
