Visual LanguageOvercoming Literacy Barriers in CommunicationDid you know that more than 30 million adults in the U.S. can't read, write, or do basic math above a third-grade level? Besides the literacy barriers, many cities have a wide range of languages spoken in their communities. How do we effectively deliver fire safety messages to these people?
You are invited to join the sixth webinar in U.S. Fire Administration’s (USFA) Fire is Everyone’s Fight™ Webinar Series. In this webinar, we will showcase 27 pictographs that have been developed to graphically convey key messages such as testing your smoke alarm each month and practicing your home escape plan.
This webinar will also cover the in-depth qualitative testing done to ensure the messages are understood and effective.
Lastly, you’ll get to see each of the groundbreaking picture sequences and hear about plans to complete an additional round of message development and testing as well as the creation of pictograph assets for use at public fire safety events.
Feb. 22, 2018, 2–3 p.m. EDT Attendance is limited so register for the webinar today! https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/1625708594590709762
