Chiefs,
FCAM Executive Board provides
the following update for Texas activations.
There has been many questions
and several discussions regarding activation to Texas. At this time Texas has requested
for 100 more swift water Type 1 or Type 2 teams only thru
MEMA. All Technical Rescue Teams in Massachusetts have been queried and the
only two teams who meet the Type 1 or 2 level is Metro Boston and Southeastern
Mass. For that reason, these two teams have been working with FCAM, DFS and
MEMA to prepare budget documentation for potential deployment.
DFS has also queried the
Commonwealth for what resources will be available for in State assets, should
both these teams be deployed, along with the MATF 1 deployment. There are
plenty of resources still available throughout the Commonwealth to cover
whatever may be thrown at us during a deployment. Should deployment become a
reality, Chiefs will be notified of what resources will be deployed as Chiefs may
need to modify your local running assignments for resources during deployment.
We have attached the FEMA
Typing sheet to this email, if you have any questions as to why certain groups
have not been activated, you can defer to the typing sheet. We cannot differ
from the Typing sheet, FEMA has been specific for only Type 1 or Type 2 teams,
so your must have all resources listed under either of those types.
For those who do not Type,
you should really try to get your arms around FEMA’s Typing and establish your
teams to a certain type level. If you do not type your team to a FEMA Type Level,
your team will never be deployed as part of a FEMA activation.
As of this time there are no
further requests for any other types of resources.
