[ARCHIVED] IAFC’s Company Officers Section Currently Seeking Candidates - 4 At-Large Director Seats

Election Opens Soon - Act Now

The IAFC’s Company Officers Section (COS) is currently seeking candidates to fill 4 at-large director seats on the section board. Each seat is a 3-year term, expiring in 2019. Those who submit a letter of interest and meet the eligibility requirements will be placed on the ballot. The individuals receiving the greatest number of votes from eligible voters will be declared elected. The section will conduct the online election late June through July, 2016.


Eligibility Requirements

You must be a current IAFC and COS section member at the time of your candidacy. If elected, you must maintain IAFC and section membership for the duration of your term.


Submission Instructions

Write a letter of interest indicating why you would like to serve on the Section’s Board of Directors and highlighting your history in the fire service. Letters are limited to no more than 350 words. Email your letter to COS Chair, Captain Mike Jaffa. Submissions are due no later than 5 p.m. EST, Wednesday, June 15, 2016.


Side Notes

  • The current Chair of the COS Board of Directors has appointed an elections committee to oversee the election process. The members appointed to the elections committee are sitting members of the Board of Directors who are not currently seeking re-election.
  • Any member of the section’s board who retires while in office shall be permitted to remain in office until the next regular annual meeting of the section, when a new officer shall be elected by the membership.
  • A maximum of 3 chief officers may serve on the section’s board at any one time.
