Yesterday I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Firefighter of the Year awards held at Mechanics Hall in Worcester MA. During that ceremony firefighters from across our Commonwealth were recognized and thanked for their incredible acts of heroism and bravery.
While listening to those stories of heroism and bravery, I silently offered multiple “thanks” that I share today with you.
First a “thanks” to my fantastic family, especially my father, who introduced me to the fire service. I am so fortunate to have my family.
“Thanks” to the firefighters and fire officers, I have had the privilege to work with.
“Thanks” to the communities that I have had the opportunity to serve.
And lastly a “thanks” to the membership of the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts. The job of a fire chief has never been more complex, challenging and dynamic than it has been over the past 22 months. I am inspired by the leadership, dedication and hard work exhibited by each and every member of the FCAM. It is an honor to work with all of you.
In closing and on behalf of the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts Executive Board and Board of Directors, I wish all of you a very safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
