I wanted to provide some background on this program for context for those that are new to this or haven’t been involved previously:

At the center of the program is the belief that all Fire Chiefs; from the moment they begin their tenure, start to accumulate a vast amount of knowledge and experience from which other Chiefs can benefit. Fire Chiefs who volunteer to be mentors are experienced; they are approved as a mentor and they are provided with training for this role. There are currently over 15 active and retired Chiefs who are prepared to serve as mentors.

Because of the reduction of mentors, the Mentoring Program is looking for Chiefs who want to help mentor other Chiefs and will be providing a new Class for new Mentors for our program. The new class is under development and hopefully be out in May; with priority for participants who will be given to districts that have little or no mentors. If you are interested in this program/class and want to serve as a mentor for other Chiefs please email the program director Rich Rochon at FCAM.mentoring@gmail.com
