[ARCHIVED] Annual 67 Report Reminder

Annual 67 Report Reminder

Good Morning,

It’s that time of year again! Many departments have already sent in their Annual 67 Reports to Civil Service, but we wanted to send out a friendly reminder to those that have not. MGL Chapter 31, Section 67 requires each municipal Appointing Authority to file with the Human Resources Division an annual list of all staff employed in Civil Service positions in any department. This list must contain the names of all those individuals employed as of January 2 nd of each reporting year to be submitted on or before March 1 st of each year.

We have made some slight edits to the format, which can be downloaded by clicking the link below. We hope it will make the process easier. As an added benefit, the updated format is similar to our eligibility forms for promotional exams, which will hopefully make that task easier in the future for those who deal with it.

In an effort to go green, we ask that you please send your 67 report (and any Civil Service paperwork) via email. Please compile your Form 67 within the Excel document that you can download by clicking the button above. You do not need to save it as a PDF to send. If you have already sent us your 67 report this year, don’t worry about sending again.  Please note that the attached excel spreadsheet for the 67 Report contains multiple sheets and that all relevant sheets must be completed.

Quick Tips for filling out the 67 form in Excel

  • The “Example” worksheet details a few new changes to make the process more standardized.
  • Please list names in the order of Last then First.
  • The fields Civil Service Permanent Title, Status, Veteran Status, Ethnicity and Gender all have standardized drop down menus to use.
  • Civil Service strongly encourages that the Form 67 be returned in the Excel Workbook format to minimize record maintenance.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or your Civil Service analyst.

Thank You,
