The Human Resources Division (HRD) in its ongoing revalidation efforts is excited to announce the launching of the revalidation of promotional titles in the Fire service (Lieutenant, Captain, District, Deputy, and Chief). Revalidation is critical to ensure that both the essential functions of the job are being tested for, and that the examination accurately reflects the actual job being performed.
As an individual who has performed the job, we need your assistance and participation to make revalidation a success. It is important for us to learn all aspects of the various promotional titles, from the mundane to the life threatening, in order to appropriately test candidates for promotional opportunities in Fire departments across the Commonwealth. For the departments that partner with us and participate in our revalidation efforts, it will also allow us the ability to create examinations that focus on tasks done specific to your department.
HRD is requesting your support and assistance from you in encouraging Fire personnel to participate in an online survey that should take approximately one hour of their time and does not have to be done all in one sitting. All survey responses are confidential and can be taken at any time that is convenient to participants. You will be provided with a link to the survey we ask that you forward to your promotional personnel. Surveys do not need to be completed all in one sitting. Individuals can stop and pick up where they left off when they log back in. The survey will be live on February 19th and we ask that they be completed no later than March 5th.
