Forwarding on behalf of the CoMIRS PMO:
There are several models of Motorola radios currently in use on the statewide CoMIRS 700/800 system that are out of support (OOS).
These include:
Portables: Mobiles:
APX 6000AN APX 6500
APX 7000 APX 7500 (Mobile and consolette)
APX 4500
The CoMIRS Program Management Office has negotiated a program with Motorola to re-open licensing for these radios for CoMIRS users. This program closes soon and will not be reopened. Agencies with these radios must ensure that their radios have all of the licenses needed to operate on the new digital system if they plan to migrate them to the new system if you have not done so already.
While the CoMIRS PMO is facilitating this capability on behalf of user agencies, it is the agency responsibility to fund the upgrades for their equipment if they choose to do so for it to continue operate on the new CoMIRS system when complete.
If you do not intend to migrate any out of service radios that may lack the feature sets, you do not need to upgrade them.
Please review the attachment for a list of agencies / communities that are shown to have this equipment which includes instructions on how to obtain the necessary software upgrades with contact information for follow up.
