A Message from Chief Burke, candidate for International Director:
Chiefs and IAFC Members,
I’m writing to request your support and vote at the October 30th New England Division of the IAFC meeting at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut for the position of International Director, following the retirement of Chief Keith Stark.
I have been a Chief officer since 2012 and Chief of Department since 2017. I started my career as a volunteer in my hometown and have remained completely focused on the fire service since. Serving as the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts President and on the New England Board has given me valuable perspective and an understanding of the fire service at large.
That perspective has shown there is a distinct need to align fire service organizations, from the IAFC through the division, state, county, and local associations. By ensuring our priorities are aligned, we can amplify our collective voice, share best practices more effectively, and drive meaningful progress for the fire service.
Along with Chief Stark, I have coordinated the first Technology Symposium New England and our first Health and Wellness Symposium on behalf of the Division. Additionally, I am a member of both the IAFC’s Communication Committee and Technology Council. Attached is a summary of my career and qualifications.
Please consider attending and voting at the annual business meeting on Thursday, October 30th in the afternoon. I’m available to answer any questions or discuss my vision for our organizations.
