Chief Derek Sencabaugh, Lexington Fire Department announces his intention to run for 2nd Vice President of FCAM for 2026-2027

To the Members of the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts,

I am honored to formally announce my intention to run for the position of 2nd Vice President of the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts.

As Fire Chief of the Lexington Fire Department, I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside many of you in efforts that go beyond our municipal boundaries. I am deeply committed to the advancement of our profession, and I believe FCAM plays a critical role in supporting and advocating for fire chiefs across the Commonwealth.

In addition to my work in Lexington, I have remained actively involved in regional and statewide initiatives that reflect the collaborative spirit of our profession. I currently serve as:

  • Vice Chair of Massachusetts Fire District 13
  • Emergency Management Director for the Town of Lexington
  • Region 1 Coordinator for the Commonwealth’s Statewide Emergency Mobilization Plan – Fire Districts 5, 6, 13, and 15
  • Board Member of the Metropolitan Boston Emergency Medical Services Council
  • Member of the Commonwealth’s District 2 HAZMAT Steering Committee
  • Member of the Massachusetts Emergency Management Association’s Emergency Management Advisory Council
  • Council Member of the Northeast Homeland Security Regional Advisory Council (NERAC)
  • Member of the FCAM Emergency Mutual Aid Compact (EMAC) Working Group

My goal as 2nd Vice President is to represent you with integrity, strengthen the voice of fire service leadership, and work to ensure that FCAM continues to grow as a resource, advocate, and unifying force for fire chiefs across the Commonwealth.

I respectfully ask for your support and your vote. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving our association and contributing to the success of fire service professionals throughout the state.

Sincerely,
Derek Sencabaugh

Chief of Department
Lexington Fire Department
