FEMA Region I
Application Development Workshop Schedule
The FY 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program award cycle is ending, and all awards must be announced by September 30, 2024. FEMA is working to open the FY 2024 AFG Program application cycle as quickly as possible. We anticipate the 2024 AFG Program will be open for applications this Fall.
FEMA Region I will be conducting in-person workshops across the New England Region. The date, time, and location of each session is indicated on the schedule below. Each workshop is approximately 2½ hours long and provides information on AFG, what is new for 2024, and tips to develop and submit a successful application. These workshops also provide an opportunity for applicants to ask questions and network with FEMA Grant Specialists and other AFG applicants and recipients.
In addition to these in-person workshops, the AFG Program will be posting pre-recorded application development workshop webinars online closer to the time of the application period. These webinars will allow interested applicants to view the webinars at their preferred time and at their own pace. In addition, AFG will host virtual Q&A sessions throughout the application period. The pre-recorded webinars and Q&A schedule for the virtual webinars will be located at https://www.fema.gov/grants/preparedness/firefighters/workshops once released.
