The Officers and members of FCAM extend our deepest sympathies to the family and members of the Hudson Fire Department on the death of retired Chief Fred Dusseault of the Hudson Fire Department.
Dusseault, 70, of Stow joined the Hudson Fire Department as a provisional firefighter in 1973 and worked his way up the ranks to become the Chief of the department, which he served as from 2000–2006. In 2022, he was awarded the Department of Fire Services Massachusetts State Firefighter Service Award in honor of his over 30 years with the Hudson Fire Department.

STOW — Family and friends are mourning the loss of former Hudson Fire Chief Frederick Dusseault, who died Saturday after falling into Lake Boon, authorities said.
According to a press release, Dusseault fell into Lake Boon around 11:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, a bystander was trying to assist Dusseault. The bystander and firefighters pulled him to shore, where they performed CPR. Dusseault, 73, was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead.
Dusseault had served as a Hudson firefighter from 1973 through 2006, the last six years as chief. In 2022, he was honored by the Department of Fire Services with the Massachusetts State Firefighter Service Award for his more than 30 years of service in Hudson.
